Today is the day!  Jesus has conquered death and begun a New Creation in those who follow Him.  Paul looks to the cross – Easter Weekend – as a source of deep hope, and sees in Jesus that the reality of suffering has completely been turned on its head.  Rather than hopeless, suffering now drives Paul on to greater hope as we follow a God who has experienced that same pain.  The cross answers the question of how we experience pain, grief and suffering once and for all.
