At Pleasant Valley Church, we express and symbolize our commitment to the rest of the church family [membership] through a Community Covenant. We encourage all those who consider Pleasant Valley EMC to be their home church and wish to become involved in ministry to make this covenant with the rest of the Pleasant Valley Church body.

YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE CHURCH
Having received Christ as my Lord and Savior and having been baptized upon my confession of faith in Him, I feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the PV Church family. In doing so, I humbly commit myself to God and to this community of believers to:
SHIELD THE UNITY OF MY CHURCH
- By acting in love toward other membership
- By refusing to gossip
- By supporting, holding accountable, and having confidence in the leadership
- By accepting and supporting corporate decisions
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus.” Romans 15:5
SHARE RESPONSIBILITY FOR
THE GROWTH OF MY CHURCH
- By praying for its growth

- By warmly welcoming those who visit
“Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.” Luke 14:23
SERVE IN THE MINISTRY OF MY CHURCH
- By living a godly life
- By discovering and using my gifts and talents
- By developing a servant’s heart
- By serving for God’s glory and not man’s praise
“Each of you should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
SUPPORT MY CHURCH IN PRACTICAL WAYS
- With my time, by attending faithfully
- With my resources, by serving where possible
- With my finances, by giving regularly
“…that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Ephesians 4:15-16
