Blessed • Strength in the Kingdom

Jesus gives us another upside down statement in Matthew 5:5. ‘Blessed are the Meek for they will inherit the earth’. And everything within Jesus listeners in his day and in our day screams ‘No, that cannot be. Certainly it is the strongest and the smartest and the bravest and the prettiest and the most creative and the wealthiest, who will inherit the earth!’ Pastor Darren unpacks the definition of the word Meek; Strength under control and Strength voluntarily submitting. And then he explains how it is that the Kingdom of Heaven is indeed made up of the Meek – those who understand their strength and their position in Christ, but choose to lay those rights aside and voluntarily become servants of God and of humanity.
